Design thinking: empathise → define → ideate → prototype → test → develop. UX एक system है - research, UI, information architecture, UX writing और interaction design. Usability testing check करता है कि users tasks पूरे कर पाते हैं या नहीं; UAT release का acceptance check है; beta एक limited rollout है।
- Nielsen heuristics: system status दिखाओ, real world से match करो, user control, consistency, error prevention, recall की जगह recognition, flexibility, minimalist design, error recovery, help/docs.
- Hick's Law: ज़्यादा options = धीमे decisions. Fitts's Law: बड़े, पास के buttons दबाना आसान। Miller's Law: लोग memory में कुछ ही items रख पाते हैं। Jakob's Law: users चाहते हैं कि आपका app बाकी apps जैसा ही काम करे।
- Gestalt: proximity, figure-ground, isolation - लोग content से पहले structure देखते हैं। Design system rulebook है; UI kit reusable parts हैं।
असली user mix के लिए design करो: Tier 2/3 users को polish से ज़्यादा task completion चाहिए (class examples: Meesho search, IRCTC, banking apps)।
Class case - "Where is my order?": problem अक्सर tracking की कमी नहीं थी। App proximity के आधार पर order को अपने आप "arrived" mark कर देता था, जबकि rider अभी दरवाज़े पर नहीं था - सबसे ज़रूरी moment पर status unclear. T-shaped RCA use करो: पहले चौड़ा explore करो, फिर एक direction में गहराई तक जाओ।
