Design thinking: empathise → define → ideate → prototype → test → develop. UX research, UI, information architecture, UX writing aur interaction design ka ek system hai. Usability testing check karti hai ki users tasks poore kar paate hain ya nahi; UAT release acceptance check hai; beta limited rollout hai.
- Nielsen heuristics: system status dikhao, real world se match karo, user control, consistency, error prevention, recall ki jagah recognition, flexibility, minimalist design, error recovery, help/docs.
- Hick's Law: zyada options = slow decisions. Fitts's Law: bade, paas wale buttons dabana aasaan hai. Miller's Law: log memory mein kuch hi items rakh paate hain. Jakob's Law: users expect karte hain ki aapka app baaki apps jaisa chale.
- Gestalt: proximity, figure-ground, isolation - log content se pehle structure dekhte hain. Design system rulebook hai; UI kit reusable parts hain.
Real user mix ke liye design karo: Tier 2/3 users ko polish se zyada task completion chahiye (class examples: Meesho search, IRCTC, banking apps).
Class case - "Where is my order?": problem aksar missing tracking nahi thi. App proximity ke basis par order ko auto "arrived" mark kar deta tha jab rider abhi door par nahi pahuncha tha - critical moment par unclear status. T-shaped RCA use karo: pehle wide explore karo, phir ek direction mein deep jao.
