Research तभी काम की है जब आप उसे एक sharp problem में बदलो: user कौन है, pain क्या है, impact कितना बड़ा है, और why now. अच्छा product work = सही problem, सही user के लिए, सही समय पर।

Jobs To Be Done (JTBD): customer product को कौन सा job करने के लिए "hire" कर रहा है? Class example - guitar: लोग guitar सीखते हैं stress relief, self-expression, discipline, identity या cool दिखने के लिए। अगर असली job discipline है, तो शायद जवाब gym routine है, guitar नहीं। तब तक "क्यों" पूछते रहो जब तक गहरा goal न मिल जाए।

Class example - wallet preload (जैसे पहले app wallet में पैसे डालना): पहले order पर friction बढ़ता है, लेकिन बचा हुआ balance users को वापस खींचता है - top-up → spend → top-up. Companies जानबूझकर first-order conversion की जगह retention चुनती हैं।

किस चीज़ के लिए optimise करना है, यह job पर depend करता है: design-first जब looks और identity खरीदारी चलाते हैं, utility-first जब performance मायने रखती है, validation-first जब बात status की है। Wallets और subscriptions शुरू में friction जोड़ते हैं लेकिन repeat use बढ़ाते हैं। और prioritisation थोड़ा analysis, थोड़ा politics है - सबसे अच्छे leverage वाली problem चुनो, सबसे ज़ोर वाली request नहीं।
